Electro-Pneumatic Valve Positioner EP500S
The EP500 electro-pneumatic valve positioner, with high precision, can control any valve operated by a pneumatic servomotor in accordance with NAMUR. It ensures an exact proportionality between the valve stroke and the electronic (mA) input signal to the valve positioner. Simple construction and high operational reliability make it a very accurate device that is also easy to maintain and calibrate.
The EP500 has an aluminum casing treated for outdoor installation. The device can be mounted on pneumatic servomotors with a stroke between 10 and 100 mm.
By default, the devices are supplied with a mounting kit for pneumatic servomotors with a stroke of 10 to 70 mm. If clearly specified at the time of ordering, the device can be provided with a mounting kit for a stroke of 10 to 100 mm. The EP500 is equipped with two gauges as standard, indicating the compressed air supply pressure and the compressed air signal to the pneumatic servomotor.
The valve positioner is designed for a control signal in mA and is suitable for a compressed air supply pressure of 6 bar. Through a simple calibration, the valve positioners can be adjusted for the simultaneous operation of two or more pneumatic valves in a way that the stroke of each valve is obtained by a split-range control signal. For example: 4 to 12 and 12 to 20 mA in the case of two valves; and 4 to 9, 9 to 14, and 14 to 20 mA for three valves, etc. The EP500 electro-pneumatic valve positioner can also be used to reverse the operation of a control signal.
Compressed Air Supply:
The EP500 valve positioner must be supplied with high-quality compressed air. A Spirax Sarco MPC2M filter regulator with coalescent filter or equivalent must be used.
