TFA Flowmeter for Saturated Steam Service
The Spirax - Sarco flow meter TFA is designed for use on saturated steam.
The flow meter measures the force exerted by the medium on a target or fixed measuring plate with a specific shape. This force and temperature are measured, converted into a density-compensated mass flow, and translated into a 4-20 mA signal and a pulse output.
The TFA also includes a function for total flow and an EIA 232C (RS232) or EIA 485C (RS485) Modbus communication.
Diameters and Connections:
The TFA is a sandwich model for installation between flanges: DN25, DN32, DN40 & DN50
Flanges according to EN 1092-1 PN16, PN25 & PN40, JIS20 & KS20
1”, 1 ¼”, 1 ½” & 2” - ASME B 16.5 class 150 & 300
Note:
The TFA should be installed in pipelines according to BS 1600, ASME B 36.10 Schedule 40, or EN 10216-2 / EN 10216-5 equivalent. Consult Spirax-Sarco if other standards are used.
Pressure and temperature limits:
See datasheet
Accuracy:
The Spirax - Sarco flow meter TFA has built-in electronics that provide an output signal proportional to the density-compensated mass flow. The electronic housing contains an LCD display & can display total flow, instantaneous flow, energy, pressure, and temperature. A digital display type M750 can be provided for remote reading via the 4-20 mA output, if desired.
System Accuracy, with 95% reliability (2 STD) (in accordance with ISO 17025):
- ± 2 % of the measured value, at a flow rate between 20% and 100 % of the maximum flow rate.
- ± 2% FSD, at a flow rate between 10% and 20 % of the maximum flow rate.
Measurement ratio:
up to 10:1
The specified inaccuracy of the TFA is valid for the entire system. Many flow meters specify the inaccuracy of the element in the pipeline. To know the inaccuracy of the entire system, you need to add the inaccuracy of peripheral equipment, such as DP transmitters.
