585 Flow Sight Glass with double glassed
The ACI Flow Sight Glass, known as Type 585, features advanced double glazing and shares the same force shunt seal as our Type 580. However, it distinguishes itself by incorporating two glass panes per viewport.
The viewing panels, crafted from borosilicate glass compliant with DIN 7080, are securely sealed using corrugated ring gaskets enveloped in PTFE, following DIN 28121 standards. The holder is meticulously screwed to ensure complete contact of metal parts around the glass fitting, providing optimal protection for the glass panel. Additionally, O-ring seals on the glass fittings prevent leaks in the event of glass breakage. Type 585 significantly enhances operational safety, preventing any process medium leakage even if the inner glass panel fails.
If the relatively low maximum operating temperature of the seal, up to 200°C, doesn't meet your requirements, Type 585 offers the option to use graphite compound seals instead of the standard corrugated ring gasket. This allows the full utilization of the glass panel's maximum temperature range, reaching 280°C. To cater to an extended temperature range, we also provide sight glass panels made of quartz or sapphire glass, ensuring that Type 585 can tackle any challenge.
You can choose the casing material from our extensive selection of steel and stainless steel alloys with pressure equipment approval, tailored to your specifications. In addition to common alloys like P265GH or 1.4571, we supply special materials such as Hastelloy or other nickel-based alloys meeting the highest standards.
Type 585 sight glass fittings with safety double glazing are meticulously designed and sized to withstand the permissible operating pressure individually for each viewing panel.
Pressure sealing is guaranteed even if one of the two viewing panels were to fail. An O-ring or flat seal between the base and intermediate flange seals towards the atmosphere in case of inner glass panel failure, making it a true safety model.
